Zeus came from a shelter in central Pennsylvania where his owners left him because they could no longer care for him. The shelter reported that he was an outside dog but kept his kennel clean and got along well with other dogs in the shelter
Zeus is doing very well in his foster home. After a trip to the groomer, his beautiful coat and teddy bear face were revealed. He was well behaved at the groomer’s and vet’s office. He is a smaller dog, weighing about 40 pounds. Zeus gets along great with his Springer sisters, aged 3 and 2.
Zeus has met children as young as 3 and does well with them, sitting to be petted and letting them lead him around on a leash. He also takes treats nicely and is not food or toy possessive. He has met one cat so far and was only mildly interested. When she hissed, he went the other way!
By keeping to a regular schedule and using a crate, Zeus has not had an accident in the house and seems to be housebroken. He sleeps in his crate at night and spends time there during the day when his foster parents aren’t around.
Zeus loves to be loved and petted but also gets very excited about going for walks. He will sometimes urinate submissively/excitedly when his leash is put on, but this has greatly minimized. He will pull on the leash, especially when he knows he is headed for the big field. His foster parents are working on this and reminding him of other commands like sit and come.
Overall, he is well behaved and one of the sweetest sprinters around! Can you give Zeus the home he deserves?
