Original: Zack came into foster care because his family was moving and couldn’t take him with them. He had been known as Buddy but is quickly learning his new name. Shortly after arriving in his foster home, he spent a day with the groomer and is now sporting a new haircut. In short, he looks great! He checked out well with the vet but is on a transitional prescription dog food to help him adjust to the changes in his world. He’s not much of a beggar, though at times, he’ll stare at the table in an attempt to levitate food!
In his foster home Zack lives with the resident dog and 3 house cats. His foster mom feels he hasn’t had much previous contact with either. He’s learning to share toys with the dog with only a few squabbles. And he is slowly beginning to ignore the cats. He shares kisses with one of them now and the second one is sleeping in the same room with him. He has no problems with counter surfing, trash or chewing things and he is very well housebroken. He knows “sit”, “come” and can give his paw. He’s working on “stay” but gets a little excited and loses focus. Zack loves to go for walks but gets excited and pulls tightly on the leash. He also loves riding in the car and hanging out in the yard. His foster family doesn’t know yet if he is crate trained.
At night Zack sleeps in the bedroom and has a bed on the floor. However, his foster parents have awakened to discover him curled up at their feet and snoring to beat the band!! He automatically jumps up on the sofa when it’s time for TV and just makes himself quite at home. It takes a few tries to get him down but eventually he obliges. Zack loves visitors. He barks loudly to announce their arrival and likes to jump up on folks, usually for a sniff and a kiss. He gets down when instructed and settles completely after a few minutes.
His foster family sees in Zack a very, very happy dog and quite a wiggle butt. His activity level is medium to medium high. He loves company, rawhide chews and having his chin scratched. He is very much the velcro sort of companion and follows them absolutely everywhere. Zack is a delightful springer with good house manners who is ready to fill an empty spot in someone’s home and heart. Is that someone you?
