Zack and his sister Yoyo were picked up wandering in western Maryland by animal control. The shelter called MAESSR, and now they are looking for forever homes of their own. It is estimated that the pups are 3.5 months old and are in good health. Zach is recovering from his neutering and having his dew claws removed. He has a full tail which he uses to show how happy he is living in a nice home with his canine foster brother and sisters.
When he first came to his foster home, Zack was very scared but is slowly coming around. He loves to be held and will hold on like he is hugging you. During his first 24 hours, he struggled through some firsts. During his first bath, he made sure his foster mom was as wet as he was! He did not like the dryer, but he was very good for the nail clipping which was done on a different day. Then, he got his first collar, and he was taken on his first leash walk. That did not go so well until his foster mom decided to tie him to his foster brother, whom he follows everywhere. That was the trick, and off he walked up the street! He is walking on the leash much better now.
New experiences make him shy away, yet he is being exposed to many new people and dogs. During his day at the vet’s office, his foster mom is sure his feet never hit the ground since the techs spent the entire day passing him around and hugging him. Even the IT person had his time holding Zack! He was even carried out to the car.
Zack is following the lead of the other dogs in the house and is starting to understand that the bathroom is outside. He sleeps quietly in a crate next to his foster mom’s bed and makes it from 11 pm to 6 am without an accident. He has been left home in a gated area without accidents for up to five hours.
This is one easy-going, loving puppy who wants nothing more than humans to snuggle with and who can help him explore all the wonders of the world. Could that be you?
