Winston is 8 1/2 y.o., who has lived witht he same people his entire life. His owner has a 9 month old baby who does not understand that you cannot pinch the dog, sit on the dog, or pull on his ears. When this happens, Winston reacts by growling and bearing his teeth. He has not bitten, but the owner is very afraid of what may happen. The only other time that he growls is if you take something from his mouth, but he has never bitten. The owner loves Winston more than anything and is heartbroken about giving him up.
Winston was obtained through a breeder in NJ when he was a puppy. He is housebroken, but not crate trained. He’s usually a pretty quiet boy. Although the owner recently moved to a home with a fenced-in yard, Winston prefers to be inside and close to his family. He is a very active dog and has had some obedience training. He is only allowed to sleep on one chair in the bedroom, but would love to sleep on the bed if he was allowed. The owner doesn’t know for sure how he is around other dogs, but she believes he’s an alpha. He gets along great with cats. He’s not great in a car and sometimes will get sick. He’s in good health, however he does have a lump on his shoulder which the vet says is just a fatty tumor. He will whine and wait by the door for his owner to come home.
