Original:
Along with his dad, Buddy Bruno, Willy was surrendered to a New Jersey shelter when their owner was forced to give up some of her dogs. When these boys were picked up from the shelter, they went directly to be groomed and then moved on to their foster homes. Willy was great during his grooming and didn’t not make a sound on his hour-long ride to foster care. He is BEAUTIFUL but timid and is in need of some socialization.
Willy is housetrained and crate trained, although getting him into a crate takes a great deal of effort right now. His foster family will work with him on this as he settles in with them. Willy also lacks confidence and wants to spend all his time either in one’s lap or between your legs. This makes walking him on a leash a bit of a challenge but his family has just the plan to help him overcome this. Willy will be out for regular morning walks with some other MAESSR dogs and hopefully will learn good leash manners from his fellow canines. He is great with all other dogs he has met so far and shows savvy dog-to-dog communication. He has a start on his obedience skills and knows come, sit, and stay. He has also attached himself to the daughter in his foster home and is quickly learning the pleasures of sharing her room each night – smart boy!!
Check back as this sweet one gains confidence and comfort in the security of his foster home.
