Original: “Willie is a snuggly sweetheart who would love to join your family!”
Willie is a very sweet boy from Pennsylvania who has lived through a lot of change in his short life. When his original owner died in 2013, Willie was adopted by his current owner and her boyfriend. With a move and job change in their immediate future, they felt Willie would do better in a home with more time to spend with him. So, they contacted MAESSR to find their good boy a wonderful new home.
A total moosh with people, Willie has never shown any aggressive behavior towards humans; his foster mom can take toys from him with no problems and can also touch his food bowl. Willie is good with the other dogs in his foster home other than some minor toy possessiveness. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball or rubber bone. There are no squeaky toys in his toy box since he’ll tear them apart in a few minutes!
Housetrained and totally reliable, Willie has full run of the house when his family is gone. He is not crate trained and the one time the previous owners tried to crate him, he cried and bent the metal bars trying to escape. Luckily, crating is not needed for him. With nice manners, Willie does not jump on people when greeting them, nor does he chew on any inappropriate items. Although he’s not much of a barker, he will bark if he hears something. Willie will sometimes stare when his people are eating, but will leave and lie down when told, “No.” Good boy!
When Willie is walked on a leash, he will sometimes pull to get to other dogs that he sees; however, when he is told to be “gentle,” he stops pulling. Willie can mostly be trusted to come when off leash but can get distracted by squirrels. He rides well in the car and responds to the commands “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “down.” He gets A+ marks from both the groomers and the vet who always comment on what a good boy he is.
Willie is a snugly sweetheart who would love to join your family!
