Original: “His favorite place to sleep at night is cuddled as close to his foster mom as he can get.”
Wellington was rescued by one of our MAESSR families from a family in Pennsylvania that kept him crated or outdoors at all times. They had a small child who was afraid of dogs, so poor Wellington was kept away from everyone.
An anxious mess when he arrived at his foster home, it was clear that Wellington had not been socialized. As a result, everything was new and scary to him. He has now settled into his new environment and only occasionally displays anxiety. Every day that passes allows him to calm down more and show what a wonderful, loving, sweet personality he has.
Wellington has wonderful house manners. There has not been a single attempt at counter-surfing. He is totally reliable left loose in the house, never touching anything he shouldn’t. What a good boy!
While leash manners are a work in progress, Wellington rides well in the car either crated or loose. His favorite place to sleep at night is cuddled as close to his foster mom as he can get. In the morning, Wellington stays in bed after she gets up in order to catch a few more Z’s. He’s so enjoying the comfy bed he never had before!
Watch for more updates on this wonderful boy as he adjusts to the good life!
