From his new foster mom:
I must say that Verdi is doing very well. I have put him through many tests today. I started out by putting my hands in his bowl while he was eating, no problem. When I gave him his biscuit, I took it from him, again, no problem. I cut the excess hair from between his toes, bathed him, gave him a blow dry and walked him for two 1/2 miles. What a good boy! He obvious needs leash training. We ran into some neighborhood kids that gave him some attention. He was not extremely interested in the kids, but he had just finished his walk.
I then tortured him by placing a St. Paddy’s day bandana around his neck for a picture! I will be scanning and emailing them tomorrow. He is a handsome guy with a very sweet disposition. Verdi gets along well with Tropper, my GSD.
He will bark when he needs to go out. If his leash is around, he will pick it up and bring it to you. I cannot say enough about this little guy.
UPDATE:
Verdi was adopted today. His new family picked him up around noon. They were so excited that they arrived an hour early. I was outside with the dogs when they arrived. Verdi greeted them in his Easter bandana and wiggling his entire back end. He took to them instantly. His new family was very excited to meet Verdi. I think it was love at first sight! I can tell that this boy will not want for anything. Verdi’s new parents had been to PetSmart to stock up on goodies.
Verdi kept looking back at me until he jumped into their van. When they were pulling away, he was proudly sitting on the floor between his new parents enjoying the ear rubs.
The expression of joy on his new family’s face is what keeps me fostering!
