Van came to MAESSR because he did not get along well with the young grandchildren in his Virginia home. They made him very nervous with their quick movements and unexpected behaviors. The family felt that it was in the best interest of everyone for Van to find a home without young children around.
His foster parents find Van to be such a sweetie! He has a wonderful “Wooooo Woooo” that he will share when he gets excited. Enjoying being with his people, Van likes to ride in the car and is an excellent passenger. He walks well on the leash and is always up for an extra lap or two around the walking trail.
Inside the house, Van has wonderful manners. He does not counter-surf or trash can dive. He is housetrained and crate trained, nicely settling in his crate when his foster parents are at work. In the evening, Van really wants to sleep in the big bed with his foster parents, but there is no room. Instead, he settles for a dog bed beside them.
Van’s foster mom felt badly for Van and his anxiety in new situations so she started him on an inexpensive supplement to take away some of the stress. It has worked wonderfully and he is much more comfortable in new situations now.
This wonderful Springer will make a great addition to the family that is willing to love him and go a little slower in helping him adjust to new situations.
