Trooper is a real lovebug. He was turned into the shelter for reasons unknown. He clearly had never received much care, but he absolutely loves people.
Trooper knows how to walk on a Flexi-lead. He will tolerate a crate, but clearly isn’t used to one. He doesn’t like to share his toys with other dogs, but he does like to play with other dogs.
The worst issue regarding Trooper is that he tested heartworm positive. We hope that because of his young age, the infestation isn’t serious. As well, he is young and strong and should do well with the treatment. His foster mom has cared for several dogs who underwent the treatment, so she knows all the right things to do. Please keep him in your thoughts. We will not be offering Trooper to any home until we are sure that he will fare with the treatment.
Trooper loves everyone in the house. If he were allowed, he would run and play with the rest gladly. He was a very good boy at the vet. He was a little curious about their poking and prodding. But, he really didn’t mind. We’ve got our fingers crossed for him.
Trooper is super with dogs and kids. He would chase an active kitten but not hurt it. A tougher adult would put this soft boy in his place. He loves to sleep at your feet. He has good house manners, though he shows a little too much interest in garbarge cans. He comes quickly when you call his name.
Update:
Trooper came through his heartworm treatment with flying colors!! He is well and healthy and ready to go home. He is good with cats and loves everyone!!! He’s come a really far way for a boy who was found in a dumpster!
Update:
Trooper finished basic agility with his foster mom. He did extremely well. Now all this pretty boy needs is a home of his own.
