Original: “The new girl in town has a normal Golden sweet and loving temperament.”
When Tippy arrived in MAESSRland, she left behind a life in a breeding kennel in Virginia. Now she has bright prospects for a new life with a loving family of her own.
Tippy was very well behaved at the vet. She just wanted to be loved on. When she went for her spay surgery, the vet reported that she had severe ear infections in both ears, a significant UTI, moderate dental disease and a low grade systolic murmur.
When Tippy came to MAESSR, her coat was matted and not in good shape. Her foster mom shaved her down, deciding it was hair and would grow back. (Please forgive her funny looking appearance in her pictures. It will not be long until she looks like a normal Golden.) Tippy was excellent for her shave down even though she was scared.
The new girl in town has a normal Golden sweet and loving temperament. She is still very scared of everything new because of living in a kennel environment for so long. She is receiving a low dose anxiety medication to help her with the transition to being a loved family member. Her forever family will be required to keep her on this medication six months post adoption to give her the help needed to adjust to the changes in her world.
Tippy is learning to walk on a leash. She appears to know not to go to the bathroom in the house—yay, Tippy!! She is not a fan of car rides, but is learning.
Keep an eye on the sweet girl as she learns how to love and becomes ready to move from the MAESSR foster home to her very own forever family.
