Sumner is an 8-year-old spayed female that is looking for a new home due to her owner not having adequate time to spend with her anymore. She is liver and white and weighs near 53 pounds. She is up to date on vaccines and will have her heartworm check and be put on preventative this week.
Sumner is very good with children and now resides with a 2-yr-old and a 4-yr-old. She is good with relative’s dogs and lives with a 12-yr-old cat. She will sometimes try to chase the cat but will not harm Sumner was crate-trained but has not been in a crate in a very long time. She will sometimes have an accident in the house which runs in spurts.
Sumner has been having some behavioral issues possibly due to the owner’s lack of time for her and probably boredom. She will counter surf and search out food and eat it. She has been known to take the occasional drink from the toilet and chew on inappropriate items.
Sumner is a little nervous riding in the care and will shake. She does not like going to the groomer and will need an acepromazine. They have had to muzzle her there, but she has never bitten anyone.
She is very sweet and loves attention. She would make great company for you on the sofa as she likes to do. Sumner likes walks and will pull on the leash at first from excitement but then settles. She likes to play ball but may not bring it back since she likes you to chase her. She has a lot on energy at times but calms down to relax easily. She likes snow and snowballs and loves ear rubs.
Could Sumner be the girl for you?
Update 5/12/03: Sumner found a wonderful home to share her love with!
