Original: “She also loves to play with toys. She will entertain herself by throwing them up in the air and then catching them.”
Star came to MAESSR when her North Carolina owner decided she did not have the skills needed to work with Star. Star was very fearful and would nip people. Part of the problem is that Star is a Border Collie mix and these herders frequently nip at the animals they are herding.
Although housetrained, Star will occasionally urinate submissively. She keeps all her feet on the floor in the kitchen and does not counter-surf. Good girl, Star!
This little girl is terrified of the leash. Once it is attached to her she is better but she will still freeze sometimes when walking. Riding in the car is a better experience for her. She is a good passenger, making herself comfortable on the floor.
Star LOVES children….much more than adults. She also loves to play with toys. She will entertain herself by throwing them up in the air and then catching them. It is so cute! She will also interact with her person or another dog playing tug.
To keep her thyroid levels stabile, Star receives an inexpensive medication daily. She will be on the medication for the rest of her life.
This little girl is a sweetheart once she warms up to you.
