Spunky is a healthy, happy one-year-old boy who is being turned in to rescue because he is growling at the children in the household. We have evaluated him and he passed with flying colors. The evaluator did a very thorough evaluation and spent quite a bit of time with him. She tried everything to evoke a reaction from him, and he was as good as could be. She came up from him from behind, grabbed him around the neck, touched his paws and ears, took away his food bowl (which was full with food), and even played a game with him outside. He did not show any hint of aggression.
Spunky is good with dogs and cats. He can chew a bit, but he is still quite young. He has had some obedience training but will certainly need an obedience class. He is housebroken and crate-trained.
We think Spunky is a good dog and will make a wonderful pet. However, we can not discount the reports that growled at children. Therefore, we will only place Spunky in a home with no children. As well, we would prefer a home who has had dogs in the past.
