Although he was found as a stray in New Jersey and taken to a shelter, Springer clearly had been someone’s pet at one time. When no one came looking for him, the shelter staff agreed that he could become a MAESSR boy.
Springer spent his first day in foster care at the groomers and was wonderful with all the staff who worked on him. Then, he went into his foster mom’s pet store to shop for a new toy and meet customers, all of whom could not believe he just arrived from a shelter. The only tell-tale sign is that he is a bit thin and needs to put on some weight, but that should happen quickly because he loves his meal time and treats!
Housetrained and crate trained, Springer crates well and rides like a champ crated in the car. Out on walks, he is very strong and pulls anyone attached to the other end of his lead. He will need work on basic leash manners to learn that walks are more fun when not dragging your human along! Springer already knows basic commands like sit, no, and off and he is eager to please. An affectionate guy, he loves to take his paw and pull you closer to pet and love him.
Springer’s foster home has resident dogs of various ages and dispositions. He especially enjoys playing hard with the resident six month old puppy. The older resident dogs are inclined to start something with him, so when his people are out of the house, Springer gets the sunroom to himself to keep everyone safe from a spat.
This handsome boy has a ton of energy and will absolutely need a home willing to help him burn off all that energy each and every day. After you have worn him out, your reward will be a “puppy” who loves to snuggle and cling to your side. Do you have the stamina to keep this boy fit and happy?
