Spring and her housemate Charlie (placed in another MAESSR foster home) were surrendered after the untimely passing of their former owner. She is a beauty that reportedly spent time earlier in her life as a show dog and was later used for breeding. Spring is a wonderful older gal who has impeccable house manners and wants nothing more than pleasure of your company and some reassurance when she wakes from her nap that things are still ok. She will do much better in a home that can excuse her every couple of hours to go outside a relieve herself. Spring received a much needed day of beauty and seems to be enjoying her new found confidence. She visited the Vet and received all her shots. She needs a tooth extracted that has abscessed, otherwise she is in good health. This past weekend, Spring went to the drive on beach with her foster sisters for a good run. Once they heard the command, all three dogs hit the sand running and it was tough to tell who in the group was the older lady. The only indicator was that Spring came back first for a drink and then ran off to join in on the fun.
Spring has not shown any aggression about food or toys or toward people. She has been around children as young as six and seems disinterested. She would be a wonderful companion for an older family who is home more with time to give. Currently, Spring has earned the coveted position on the sofa next to her foster mom’s mother, where Spring naps peacefully throughout the day. Can you give this wonderful older gal the glow she needs in her golden years?
