Sparky has just been pulled from a shelter. We don’t know much about him. He is a 15-month-old b/w neutered male. He was at the shelter for a week. He was turned in because the owner had allergies.
The shelter reports that he has a wonderful temperament, is great with children, and gets along with other dogs. We don’t know about cats. He is housebroken.
Sparky is doing really well in his foster home. He is completely housebroken. Sparky knows to sit, give paw and down. When he jumped on the bed I told him off, and he obeyed without question. He wiggles all the time, and I mean ALL the time.
His foster mom reports that he is the happiest, friendliest dog she has had.
Update:
Just wanted to let you know that Sparky is doing fine. He is adjusting to his new family well, and we really enjoy having him. He is doing better with the cats, but they still want absolutely nothing to do with him, so it will take awhile, but I think eventually they will get along.
We have signed him up for obedience training, and we’ve discovered he is really quite intelligent so he should do quite well. So far we have taught him to lay down, come, and fetch, although we still have a lot of work to do. Brian, our son, loves him and he will pull him on his scooter. I usually come home for lunch, and take him out to run with me and he does fine.
Hope all is well with you and appreciate all you do to help take care of these animals. We’ll keep you posted on how Sparky does. Take Care.
