Sonny is a love bug. He loves to sit on your foot and look up to you for pats and attention. He was raised for four years with a 5-year-old to 9-year-old boy who he liked. Sonny was also with two indoor/outside cats. One hissed at him and he never bothered it, the other was his buddy and they played together.
Sonny loves treats. He seems clueless what to do with a Buster cube. He doesn’t pay much attention to toys, but likes to walk the yard with me.
Sonny is a pretty bench-bred dog. He is 50 pounds and close to standard and probably has some show dogs in his background. He has a nice thick bones and has a very square look. His eyes are so full of expression and love.
Sonny likes to be petted; he is very behaved for house manners. He is housebroken. He is not a fan for a crate but is learning. He knows to sit on command and give paw.
Sonny is such a love bug. He gets along with cats, kids. He doesn’t like to be left. So, he must have been an awful outside dog. He lets his foster mom rub his belly and do his ears. He is very sweet and pretty dog.
Update:
Sonny has responded very well to his heartworm treatment and the infestation has been beat. Recently, he had his fatty deposits and a lump on lip removed. He has shaved spots where lumps were. But, he is still going to be a pretty boy. He is got the bone, and structure.
Sonny is great with kids, adults, good at vet. He is an afraid at vets but is good with everyone. He grooms and baths easily. He walks with a loose six-foot lead. On choker, he responds and either comes or stops pulling.
Sonny is having some growling in front of HIS crate with dogs. When he first came into rescue, his foster mom did not push dogs because he wasn’t feeling well. But for the last week or two he has been done with treatment and still acts badly with dogs. He overacts to dogs near him. He even sounds off at other dogs in his foster home. We really think he needs to be the only dog in his new home.
On the other hand, Sonny loves people. He goes in and out of crate fine. He is a bit noisy when left in crate. But, not horrible. He is fun to brush, rolls on back to be petted, he can be treat motivated to do almost anything for commands and tricks. He likes car rides out of crates, but eventually will even settle in crate on road trips. Previous owner said he was fine with cats.
Update:
Sonny went to his forever home Easter weekend!
