Original: Solomon was found as a stray in western Pennsylvania and taken to a shelter. This very frightened field boy exhibited signs of physical and verbal abuse and was very timid around people. It was his lucky day when he was greeted by MAESSR friends who pulled him from the shelter and started him on the road to a better life where vet care, shelter, nourishment, and especially love would be his for the rest of his life.
His foster family members, old and young, feline and human, warmly welcomed Solomon to his new home in the country. He met the resident cats nose-to-nose without any incident. Since his is shy around people, Solomon’s foster parents keep him on a leash inside the house keeping him close to them in the living room. He does follow nicely on a lead. When off of a leash and in his own environment in the downstairs family room, he generally looks for a place to hide and keeps to himself.
Solomon is a good boy. He loves to go for walks and doesn’t pull or tug. He does need to keep a close leash as he would run to the woods if given a chance. At this time, Solomon does not know any commands. He appears to be housetrained and he has had no inside accidents while in foster care. His foster mom and dad are working on repairing his broken spirit and trying to give him a sense of trust in the humankind. His progress may be slow, but they are patient and loving with him. Good things will certainly unfold.
