Snuggles came into foster by accident. His foster mom was delivering a stray dog to the local humane society and happened to look at a listed cocker spaniel that looked just like a Springer. Low and behold he was. Snuggles is a neutered, male, black and white English Springer. Snuggles is estimated to be around nine, but he often acts younger than his age. He was brought in as a stray so there was no previous information on him.
He has no real health problems except for fatty deposits. Snuggles has let his foster mom clean his teeth, check his ears, and check out his fatty deposits with not even a little squirming. Snuggles doesn’t counter surf and only gets on furniture when asked to. He only chews dog toys and rawhides. He does occasionally jump up when his foster mom comes home, but he has only done this when the resident Springer does. He has been around children from 18 months to 16 years old and has no concerns or aggressive behaviors toward them. With three female dogs (sizes extra large to medium, ages 3 & 4) in the house Snuggles has taken over as the “Man of the House”. Snuggles has not yet been tested with cats or male dogs and it is not known what he will do.
At 64 lbs Snuggles is a solid Springer. He does pull when walking, but only at the beginning. There is no need to crate Snuggles since he is such a good dog when his foster mom is gone. At night he is invited up on the bed but doesn’t stay long. He usually sleeps at the foot of the bed or on the cold bathroom floor. Overall, Snuggles is a very low key Springer. He does like to fetch balls and will play chase with his foster family. He gladly gets in the doggie pool for a quick dip.
His foster mom has found that he is only afraid of the vacuum and will quickly vacate the room. (Snuggles didn’t really appreciate the local fireworks either.) Snuggles is very loving and has shown what a great dog he is. He loves to snuggle, give kisses, and follow his foster mom everywhere. But he is just as happy to fall sleep at her feet. He has been a real pleasure and has been only a positive influence in his foster family.
If you are looking for an easy going, well trained, and full of love Springer Snuggles is the man for you. Although his background is unknown it can be assumed he loved his former family whatever the circumstance. Unconditional love is all you will get with this handsome older man.
