Original: Snapple came into MAESSR’s care along with her mom, Apple, from a shelter in North Carolina. They had been adopted three years prior but were returned due to a divorce and the couple no longer being able to care for the mother/daughter pair. Like her mom, Snapple is a beautiful black and white and wags her happiness with a full tail.
This gal is a very sweet and submissive ESS who is settling in easily to her new foster home. She is very well-behaved, housebroken, and walks well on a leash. She does not counter-surf or jump on the furniture and rarely barks. Snapple is crate trained and is calm and accepting of it. She stays in her crate when her foster family is away from home. She is kept in the back of the house where the bedrooms are and loves to sleep on her doggie bed at night.
Snapple loves to have her belly rubbed, has learned to sit on command, and is learning to come. She rides great in the car and loves to have the window cracked so she can take in all the great smells during the trip. When Apple is not with her on these car rides, it takes some coaxing and calming words to get her out of the car once she has reached her destination.
With everyone she meets Snapple is friendly. She has lived with children as young as four. On walks she has greeted the neighbors, adults and children, with ease. She receives ear drops twice a day for an ear infection and, though the drops seem to irritate her a bit, she never shows any aggression toward her foster mom and dad. Snapple takes her queues from Apple and shows signs of anxiety when the two are separated. They are very bonded and it may take some time for her to adjust when she moves to her forever home.
Snapple is a very sweet and laid-back girl who would love to find a family who will take her for long walks and give her lots of love and attention. Fall is just beginning. What better way to enjoy the colors and cooler weather than with an enthusiastic walking partner!!
