Skamper is an energetic Springer who loves nothing to more than to have a playful day followed by a quiet evening where he can relax with people. He has a high energy level and plays non-stop which leads to a lot of power naps throughout the day. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and respects their space. He and the younger dog in his foster home are constantly engaged in play; however, he also enjoys a great deal of play time with the resident 12-year-old Akita mix.
Skamper has free run of the house at all times and enjoys his nice soft dog bed. Despite his foster mother’s best attempts at keeping him off of the sofa, he insists on sneaking up when no one is looking. He is also a bit mischievous when it comes to the cats. He loves to give them chase and eat their food. He enjoys rawhides, tennis balls, and stuffed animals, having several that he drags around the house.
Skamper rides fine in the vehicle although the longest he has been in a car at any given point in time is an hour. He is not a problem on the leash and appreciates being outside in the yard whenever possible. He is not a barker but is very much a digger – thank goodness for free fill dirt. He is learning basic commands and is responding well to his foster family’s direction.
