Original: Shooter was rescued from a shelter by a MAESSR volunteer who will keep him until a home is found for him.
Shooter is good with kids, dogs and cats. Pretty good for a dog who was used for hunting. He did very well with his foster mom’s inside cat. He seems to get along fine with children, he interacted with a 6 year old and 9 year old at the veterinarian’s office. We will check him further.
Shooter was both indoors and outdoors by his owners. They stated that he was only partially housebroken, but to date, he has only had one accident in foster home. Shooter is crate-trained and good on a leash. He isn’t crazy about car rides.
Shooter does have his full tail. Shooter is his happiest when he is carrying his ball around. When we go outside his ball is the first this he looks for. He has a lot of energy and needs a lot of exercise. He has been spending the night in his crate and he does not mind being in the crate.
Shooter was neutered on August 2. In addition, he had his teeth cleaned and a lump on his gum removed. He also had to have two teeth removed and he is now on antibiotic. He had two skin tags removed as well as a cyst from his left, hind knee. He seems no worse for what was done with the exception of several shaved spots. The veterinarian felt that the lump, skin tags and cyst were all benign. Shooter is still on medication for his ears, but his ears are much better. Everyone at the veterinarian’s office complemented Shooter on how sweet a dog and how well behaved he was.
Shooter is a great dog and we are not sure why his owners gave him up. He is such a loving sweet dog that wants nothing more than to please and to be loved.
When faced with parting with Shooter, his foster home just could not do it. They have adopted him!
