This is one great dog!! We have discovered that she is not as hard of hearing as we thought she was. She just needed time to settle in and absorb all the things around her. She comes now when called and is pretty good with sit and shake. She loves to walk on a leash but does tend to pull so I am working with her on that.
One thing is for certain right now though and that is she must be on a leash unless in a fenced backyard. We let our dogs go out the door to our car and they go straight to the car but this girlie will run right off. She loves to chase a tennis ball and bring it back and go for car rides. She gets along great with my 2 dogs and cat. She has been around 2 of our friends children and seems to have no problem with them. She really has a great temperment so I wouldn’t see children as a problem. You can take her food away and stick you hand in her bowl and she s fine with that. She can also be crated with ease. Right now though she is sleeping in the floor with our other springer, our golden and cat.
I also took her to my groomer and she said she did great and got along with all the other dogs. She is a wonderful dog and just loves everybody.
UPDATE:
When faced with the prospect of Shayla’s placement, her foster family couldn’t do it. So they have adopted her themselves!
