Original: Shaggy was found running through busy streets by a family in Jackson, NJ. The family took him in until they could find him his owner. After a month of looking, no one has claimed him. The family is turning him over to rescue. They have done a fantastic job of fostering him. When he came to them he was extremely skinny and needed attention. Through their care he has gained weight and with 6 girls, under the age of 11, has had quite a bit of attention.
He is a tall black and white intact boy who is on the skinny side. He has a lovely coat with nice feathering. He enjoys being groomed and allowed his foster mom to trim up his paws today so it would not look like he was walking around in snowshoes.
He is one big sweetie pie full of love. He loves to cuddle and snuggle next to you in true springer fashion. The family that picked him up off the stretts, said he was really good with her children 3, 5, 7, 9, and 12) and also with her cat. His current foster home had company they brought their two brittanies with them. Their year old male and Shaggy really had a good time playing.
Shaggy is not a big eater. He is very gentle when you give him a dog biscuit. He will growl at another dog in his foster home, if she comes near his food, but his foster mom can take his food from him without any protest. He will come up on the bed when invited, but telling him off is not a problem. He knows his name and knows come and sit. He pulls on the leash, and will be worked with to correct that problem.
Is this “Shaggy” sweetie pie the one for you?
Update: Shaggy was adopted into a very loving family!
