Update 03/20/12:
Shadow has done very well in her foster home. Her anxiety levels have almost completely disappeared. Her foster mom was able to give her a complete grooming a couple of days ago. Shadow was not too happy about having her feet and ears tidied up, but she looks great now!
Playing ball is a passion for this youngster. Shadow follows her foster mom around with a ball, just begging her to throw it. The only problem is that there are several ball players in the foster home, so Shadow has some serious competition and does not always get to catch the ball………:)).
Shadow’s young, beautiful, and will mature into a fine companion. An active family with time to “play” every day is on her wish list…………someone she can “shadow” for the rest of her life. You??

Shadow came to MAESSR due to her anxiety over new situations and noises. Her West Virginia family had purchased her and her sister as young puppies. About three months ago, Shadow started experiencing extreme anxiety. Her family was concerned for their young grandkids that visited frequently, so they made the difficult decision to relinquish Shadow to MAESSR.
This young Springer has done very well in her foster home. Shadow quickly adjusted to the multiple dogs in her foster home and enjoys playing chase and wrestling with them. If the tennis balls come out, she is right there to play fetch with her people. Shadow has completed an obedience class and is well-behaved for her age even walking well on the leash. Her foster mom is exposing her to many new experiences and encouraging her to expand her comfort zone in a variety of areas. Also, Shadow was started on an inexpensive anxiety medication. Hopefully, with everything that is being done to help her feel more comfortable, she will soon be looking for a forever home.
