Shadow is a very sweet boy who just wants to be loved and played with. He likes a tennis ball but still has not figured out the “bring it back to you” part. At this point he thinks it is wonderful to be able to carry it around. Shadow is housebroken and semi-crate trained. He will settle in a crate but has to bark for a few minutes to see if vocals will bring someone to let him out. He will get on furniture and would LOVE to be able to sleep in the bed with his people. Of course, they are discouraging this interest. Shadow knows the “sit” command but that is the extent of his obedience knowledge. He will pull some on a leash and needs training to relax and walk beside his people. This youngster gets car sick, but his foster mom thinks he will get over this quickly.
A shelter in western Maryland was Shadow’s refuge prior to MAESSR . There is no information on the details of the events that led to him being there. The shelter reported that when he was taken to the vet to be vaccinated, he was found to have hook, round, and tape worms which explains why he is so thin, even for his age. He has now been treated with wormer and should start gaining from his 33 pounds to a healthy weight.
Shadow would greatly benefit from a family willing to take him to obedience class and to show him how much a springer puppy should be loved. He is a smart boy and really wants to please. He’s almost ready to adopt his forever family. Do you need a Shadow in your life?
