Original: Seamus is a 3 year old ESS that lives with a family that includes a 6-year-old boy and a cat. He gets along with the child and cat wonderfully.
Seamus currently lives in a busy neighborhood and his house has a fenced in yard. Seamus runs the fenced in yard trying to be with the people outside. The family is putting him up for adoption because his owners are afraid that he may be too over protective. He got out of the fence and chased a child that was walking past the house. He did not touch the child but kind of “air” snapped at him. It is very possible that the fence causes Seamus frustration when he can’t be with the child and people that are outside of the fence. When other children in the neighborhood come by, his owners lock him up. This is due to other children’s allergies and they are afraid he may snap at them.
The people who know this dog, the vet and other adults think he’s great. Other than this once incident, he has no bad habits except he does submissive urination.
Is Seamus the dog for you?
Update:
Seamus has found his new family and is very happy!
