When his Pennsylvania family was forced to move due to financial difficulties, they made the decision to relinquish Scruffy to MAESSR. He walked into his foster home like he had always lived there and immediately made himself comfortable. Scruffy loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home, but his favorite activity is sleeping in the bed with his foster family.
Scruffy has wonderful house manners, but might get into an open trash can if the opportunity presented itself. He is not crate trained and gets very stressed when put in a crate. He is so good in the house that his foster mom has not pursued the crate route further. Scruffy can sit, stay, come, down, paw, and heel – he’ll do anything for a Milk-Bone!
Despite his name, this pup takes his looks seriously and thoroughly enjoys his time at the groomer. He also walks well on leash and can even be trusted not to run away when he is off leash. He likes to ride in the car and will either sit in the back seat, or put his paws on the console between the two front seats so that he can help navigate! A typical, active Springer boy, Scruffy enjoys walks, runs, and playing at the dog park with other dogs. He also loves water in all forms – including swimming, and even baths! One thing Scruffy is not fond of is loud noises such as thunderstorms or fireworks. When a storm is brewing Scruffy will either seek comfort with his family, or hide in a closet until he feels it is all clear again.
This is one sweetheart of a Springer. Wouldn’t you like to make him yours?
