Original: “He really is quite a guy who follows his foster dad everywhere and likes to help him in the yard.”
Scrappy Doo came to MAESSR from a shelter in Maryland. He had been found as a stray. When the shelter tried to place him, he had growled at a small child and was returned. For this reason, he will not be placed in a home with small children.
This handsome young man is housetrained with good manners—no counter-surfing or trash diving for this guy! He is crate trained and likes to ride in the car but does pull on the leash. He sleeps on a dog bed beside his parents’ bed. Scrappy does not like his feet touched and needs to be muzzled when his nails are done.
MAESSR will be requiring his adopting family complete one course of obedience instruction with him within 90 days of adoption. MAESSR only places dogs –even older ones – in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. This will all help Scrappy become the best Springer he can be.
He really is quite a guy who follows his foster dad everywhere and likes to help him in the yard. Scrappy is also a devoted ball player; he’ll chase his ball for hours!!
This fellow has had a rough start, but now has landed in one of the best situations possible—he’s a MAESSR boy!! And, he could become your boy. Keep your eyes out for Scrappy’s progress—don’t you love the name?
