Original: “A little shy when you first meet her, Scarlett’s bashfulness quickly turns to love.”
When a Maryland kennel was closing, MAESSR stepped up to help place their dogs― both Springers and English Cocker Spaniels. Beautiful Scarlett is one of the English Cockers who is now a MAESSR girl.
Both housetrained and crate-trained, Scarlett is reliable in the house so she is given free roam inside when her foster parents are gone. She is quickly adjusting to inside living after beginning her life in a kennel. Her foster parents are introducing Scarlett to new experiences as slowly as possible to make her comfortable and confident.
A little shy when you first meet her, Scarlett’s bashfulness quickly turns to love. She LOVES her people and thrives on the attention they gladly give her!
Scarlett had to have two teeth removed when she was under anesthesia for spaying. She has recuperated well from her surgery and is eating well. A stool sample proved positive for intestinal worms, so she received treatment for these parasites. Vetting completed, Scarlett is a healthy little girl.
Coming from a kennel environment, Scarlett knows no commands and needs to learn to walk properly on a leash. It would benefit her greatly if her forever family would provide obedience training lessons for her. Improved canine/human communication would enhance family life for all and the bonding that results is wonderful. Scarlett already knows proper car riding etiquette and she is a good passenger.
Watch for more on Scarlett as her personality continues to unfold with her foster family.
