Original: Scaley is 11 1/2 years old and looking for a new home. She lives in Ashland, VA with her family. Scaley just moved to an apartment complex and does not like her new home. She grew up in a house with a big fenced in yard. Scaley likes to play in a yard and will run out the apartment door when given a chance. She was recently picked up by animal control and taken to the local shelter. During her stay at the shelter she developed a urinary tract infection. She is on antibiotics and recovering nicely.
Scaley is spayed, liver and white, and weighs 54 pounds. Her current family adopted her when she was two years old. She is UTD on shots, HW negative, and the vet gives her a clean bill of health. She has a fatty tumor on her hind left leg. The vet does not recommend removing the tumor, due to her age.
Scaley is described as a sweet girl that is good with cats and most other dogs. She is not crazy about puppies. She likes to hide her bone in the yard and surprise you with it at a later date. She does not beg for food or counter surf. She stays in the house without a crate.
Her 11-year-old boy walks Scaley daily. She is good with kids, but unknown with toddlers.
Scaley is looking for a home with a yard to run and play in. She was allowed on a tether at her current apartment, but the manager said this is not permitted.
Update: Scaley has found a wonderful new home and is fitting in well already!
