Sarge

Sarge aka “Houdini” is a 3-year-old liver and white neutered male that is looking for a new home. Sarge is so smart he would have been named President of his class. Put him in a crate, and he will find a way to escape. He has escaped from his crate even with a chain attached to it.  He also can open doors when left in another room away from where all of the action is.  He just does not like to be confined and will find a way to escape. It has been reported that he tore up some molding trying to get out of the laundry room but then figured out how to open the door by the knob.  We can’t guarantee that an electrical fence will be enough to keep Sarge in his yard.

Sarge is up to date with vaccines, heartworm negative and on Interceptor and Frontline in the spring and summer.  He has no medical conditions and no ear infections. Sarge is also housebroken.

He is good with children and lives with an eight and ten-year-old. Sarge loves other dogs but will chase cats. He will bark and growl at repairmen coming to the house but has never bitten. He loves to run. He jogs 2-3 miles off lead with his owner and stays right with him. He loves to play Frisbee and will catch it in the air. He likes to run in the woods and sometimes comes back not smelling too nice after rolling in something undesirable.  He will chase birds and squirrels. Sarge is groomed at home and is very good and tolerant.  It is reported that he is good left free in the house except for a few occasions where the garbage was just too tempting.  He will roll over to get his paws wiped when needed.  Sarge likes to sleep in the bedroom on a dog bed.
