MAESSR was called in to help when Sandy and her sister Flossie needed a new home. The North Carolina family they had loved since puppyhood was moving to a new home near a very busy highway and feared for the girls’ safety. MAESSR had intended to keep the sisters together, but both are doing very well in separate foster homes.
Sandy is a well-behaved dog who does also have a fear of thunder due to a violent storm she experienced. This senior lady is housetrained and crate trained. She knows basic commands but is a pretty passive soul. Great on the leash, Sandy does not pull and she stays right by your side. Sandy is a wonderful girl who does not counter-surf, chew or get on the furniture. She shows no separation anxiety, loves car rides and was good at the groomer’s.
Since being separated from her sister, Sandy has begun to show her personality. She is playing with the young cocker in the house and beginning to be more interested in the goings-on around her. At meal time, she is right in the middle of the fray, her little stub of a tail going a mile a minute. She comes to ask for petting, but goes to her bed when told to go lie down.
Sandy loves everybody she meets and even gives special selected persons little kisses. She will fit with people, dogs and cats of all ages. What a joy this senior will be in her furever home. Some family will have great fun finding Sandy in a Christmas stocking!!
