Original: Sammy is a beautiful Springer. He is an extremely friendly dog and gets along well with everyone in his foster family, including 3 and 4 year old children. He is his foster mom’s little shadow and follows her everywhere she goes.
Sammy is also a very gentle dog and responds well to commands. He knows how to “sit” and “stay” and does not snatch food from people or beg at the dinner table. He loves to sleep on the couch. He would also willingly sleep next to you in bed but is quite the gentleman and obeys when you tell him “no” and “down.” He is good with his housetraining.
Because Sammy was given up to an animal shelter in northern Virginia not once, but twice, he is a little bit fearful of being left alone and will mark in the house if roaming free when his foster family is gone. Because of this, he is currently crated when the family has to leave and is settling in well with this routine.
The reason for Sammy’s second return to the shelter supposedly had to do with a skin condition what was going to need medication. When he visits the vet for his general exam and updating of vaccinations, this will be checked out and more information will be coming. One thing is certain – whatever may be going on there will not overshadow how lucky any one would be to have this well-mannered dog as part of their family.
