Original: “She loves to be with anyone who will sit with her and cuddle and rub her neck and belly.”
Sadie, who was originally from North Carolina, was surrendered because her Virginia family feared an elderly parent moving into the home could possibly trip over Sadie.
The family stated Sadie has seasonal allergies in the Spring and Fall and was treated with homeopathic products. She has occasional ear infections and it was recommended that she have entropion surgery which the family could not afford. Entropion is an abnormality of the eyelids in which the eyelid rolls inward. This inward rolling often causes the hair on the surface of the eyelid to rub against the cornea, resulting in pain. Sadie is due to see a vet for a complete exam. Her foster family puts drops in Sadie’s eyes several times a day and cleans her ears regularly. Sadie is a good girl and has no problem with any of this.
Sadie has settled in quite comfortably in her new foster home. She is a sweet girl. She loves to be with anyone who will sit with her and cuddle and rub her neck and belly. She is a true Velcro Springer. She does well with other dogs in the home and the dog next door. She does chase squirrels and birds in the back yard but her family has seen no signs of digging or chewing—and, this good girl doesn’t jump the fence.
Sadie is very alert and will bark when someone new arrives at the door. She barks until she greets them and they say hello to her. She is housetrained and will stand at the front door to signal that she needs to go out. Sadie is a good eater and not food aggressive. She has not had any problems with counter-surfing, but if there is food on the counter, she will stand close and sniff.
Sadie has no problem with loud noises; fireworks were not a problem over the Fourth of July. When her family leaves the house, Sadie is left loose with the resident dog and seems to have no problem with that. At night Sadie sleeps on her bed in her foster family’s bedroom.
This beauty knows some commands such as “sit” and “stay.” She will walk nicely on leash and will have her first car ride while going to the vet.
Sadie is a sweet little girl and a pleasure to have around. Watch for future details as she sees the vet and explores her new home.
