Sadie is a sweet older girl whose owner died. She is now living with her owner’s daughter. Unfortunately, the daughter’s Doberman doesn’t like Sadie and picks on her. Poor Sadie is living on the porch now.
Sadie is housebroken and walks nicely on a leash. She has bad knees and is a little stiff and sore. She would be a great dog for someone looking for a nice quiet girl to hang out with. She’d love to be a couch potato at your house.
We moved Sadie into a foster home after the family told us that they were going to take her to a shelter. In the foster home it quickly became apparent that the family had not been forthright in their initial description of Sadie.
In addition to the chronic knee problems, she may have a torn cruciate ligament in her right leg. The owner never got this taken care of. She’s had urinary tract problems – infections with crystals that have resolved. However, she still shakes when she pees and appears to be in pain. She has arthritis and a very hard lump on her butt.
All of that is physical and might be addressed. However, Sadie is very aggresssive. She has some major aggression problems with other dogs. She can’t be trusted by her foster home for a minute. MAESSR has made the decision to ease her pain and put Sadie down.
