Sadie was found without ID along a road in Maryland. When the kind people who saved her had no luck finding her owners, she was taken to a shelter. MAESSR was contacted and Miss Sadie was transported to a foster home.
Miss “Lady Sadie Sue,” as her foster mom calls her, is a Velcro, loving girl. She is housetrained and on a schedule to go out to potty. Because she does so well on her own, she has never been crated in her foster home.
This girl has good house manners and exhibits no guarding of resources. She has slept with her foster mom but mostly beside the big bed. She has been invited to sit on the sofa and definitely likes that! If she is with someone in her home, she just relaxes on the floor nearby. She has a bit of separation anxiety for which she is receiving an over-the-counter supplement. When her foster mom returns from work, Sadie is all wiggles and brings a toy to share.
On leash, Sadie is a pleasure to walk. When meeting people she is polite, never jumping on them. During car rides Sadie is a bit anxious and has been buckled in safely with a harness.
Sadie was fabulous at the groomers and is a real trooper getting her ears cleaned. She was wonderful at her vet appointment.
Sadie’s ideal forever home would be one where someone is around to spend time with her rather than leaving her alone for much of the day. Children old enough to be respectful of the needs of an older dog could be a fine addition, too. This girl is looking for love and attention and will shower her future family with both.
