Update 07/16/11:
Sabrina recently moved to a new foster home. At the time she was spayed, some benign mammary cysts were removed, which required a calmer environment for recovery. With fewer canine companions in a quieter foster home, Sabrina was able to heal and regain her strength rather quickly.
Completely recovered and with renewed vigor, Sabrina’s spirit and energy level are high. Despite testing positive for Lyme disease, she remains asymptomatic and will continue with her medication regimen.
According to her foster mom, here’s the low-down on Sabrina’s list of things she LOVES:
Chasing birds
Swimming in warm salt water
Getting her hair and nails done (what a girl!)
Sleeping in a cozy bed
Receiving love and attention from her humans
Finding peace and comfort in her senior years
Sabrina has been embraced by MAESSR’s loving family and has been given the gift of excellent health care. Now that she’s feeling in tip top shape, she’s preparing for a special family to call her own. This super sweet, affectionate girl would love you to open your heart and home to her.
Original:
Sabrina came to MAESSR when her Pennsylvania owner could no longer afford to care for her.
This petite little lady is so sweet and soft that she will melt anyone’s heart in a half a second! She has wonderful house manners and really wants a forever home where she can sleep in the bed with her people. She is crate-trained, but it is not required. Sabrina has full run of her foster home at all times and has been a perfect angel. When it is time for a walk, she walks well on the leash. Although she is a good car rider, she is not crazy about this activity. How about a nice walk instead?
When she arrived at her foster home, Sabrina came with a urinary tract infection and now, after the proper antibiotics, that is now cleared. She also tested positive for Lyme disease and is being treated with 30 days of medication to try to prevent any symptoms from appearing. Sabrina had a few lumps in her mammary chain and those were removed when she was spayed. They were just cysts, but we wanted to be sure everything was covered. She’s a healthy senior!
In the canine world, Sabrina gets along with most dogs. Sometimes she will get a bit cranky with another female dog, so we would like to find her a forever home where she is the only dog or lives with a male dog.
Can this little girl cuddle her way into your heart?
