Update 1/5/04:
Sabrina has been adopted!
Original:
Sabrina came to rescue via the Greene County, PA shelter where she was surrendered by her previous owners who also turned in all of her AKC registration papers. Sabrina is adjusting nicely in her foster home and is getting along nicely with her young human resident toddlers and the resident male. She is 8 years old though and the activity level in the house is a bit high for her so she will retreat to her crate for a rest in her safe place on occasion. She has attempted to play ball a bit, but more often likes to have her fleecy blanket with her and will carry it around or lay with it in her mouth and hold it between her paws. If she doesn’t have it and you ask her to go get her blankie, she will gladly do it!
Sabrina is housebroken and sleeps on the floor next to her foster parents bed though they are sure she would have preferred to sleep up there with them. She went to the vet to get up to date on shots and is being treated for a urinary tract infection and ear infections. She also has a small cyst on her back which is not causing her any problems.
We don’t think that Sabrina has ever been groomed and her foster home will work her on this. They know for sure she didn’t like to have her nails clipped at the vet’s and they were very long. She has scabs from flea bites as well, but has no fleas now. She is heartworm negative and on preventative too. Sabrina is very protective of her home and the car. She did bark and growl as her foster mom approached the car after leaving her in for a few minutes until she recognized her foster mom!
Sabrina is a sweet girl who would love to find the warm lap of her forever home very soon! Is that lap yours?
