Original: “Rossi is a sweet little guy who absolutely adores cuddling and being hugged.”
With two small children AND a year old Springer puppy in the family, Rossi’s Pennsylvania owners relinquished him to MAESSR simply because his energy levels were too high and they did not have the time to devote to him. So, now this sweetheart is a MAESSR boy.
During his time in foster care, Rossi has proved to be housetrained with only one accident occurring on the first night; a night in which he drank an enormous amount of water after a long car ride home. It is also important to note that during this car ride, he was completely calm and proved to be a great source of company.
Rossi’s house manners need a bit of polishing; currently, he jumps up on people and counter-surfs. Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs a 1 year old and younger to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Rossi is sure to be a good student. His foster family is currently working on his classic puppy mouthiness and with walking on the leash. He responds well to commands such as “no,” “down,” and “off.” Overall, he has the potential to be a fantastic companion to anyone willing to put in some work with him.
One thing that potential families can feel secure about is that Rossi has shown no signs of destructive tendencies. He has only chewed on his toys and seems to interact appropriately with other dogs; in fact, he seems to have a submissive personality.
Rossi is a sweet little guy who absolutely adores cuddling and being hugged, and he rightfully deserves to be cuddled and hugged by a loving family. Because of his rambunctiousness and high energy, the recommended home would be one with children that are at least ten years of age. With just a little bit of work, Rossi can be the perfect addition to a family in need of a loving pup.
