Original: “Rosie has adjusted very well to life in her foster home which has no other dogs in it and no cats.”
Rosie came to MAESSR when she made it clear that she did not want to share her space with the other dogs in her West Virginia home. Despite living with two very docile labs and another smaller dog in her home, Rosie has been randomly going after the other three dogs for the past few years. The owner is unable to identify any triggers but when she went after one of the labs, the owners decided it was the final straw. For everyone’s safety and well-being, the owners made the difficult decision to re-home Rosie with MAESSR.
Rosie has adjusted very well to life in her foster home which has no other dogs in it and no cats. Both crate trained and housetrained, she signals her need to go outside by going to the door. When her foster parents leave the house, Rosie is crated, but the goal is to give her free run of the house, eventually. She has good house manners so that should not take long to achieve. At night Rosie sleeps with her foster parents on their bed. She also gets up on the furniture since it is allowed.
Rosie knows basic commands and walks well on leash. Also, she is a good passenger in the car. She enjoys playing with toys and arrived with a collection her own from her original home. Her toys are the only objects she chews on in her foster home. Good girl!
If you have no other dogs or cats in your home and are looking to adopt, consider Rosie!
