Original: Rosie is a healthy, beautiful girl with a shiny coat and freckled nose. She came to MAESSR through no fault of her own. Due to a new baby in the home, her original family felt she should go to a home that could give her more attention.
Rosie has no bad manners; she doesn’t counter-surf or beg. Housetrained and crate trained, Rosie does not get on furniture. She is not food aggressive. Calm in the house and quiet, Rosie comes when she is called and she knows the commands “sit” and “down.” Her former family indicated she was reliable off leash; however, she does need to be leash trained. She will enjoy long walks or running to lose a few of her 54 lbs. If her people are not in the mood for a walk, Rosie would be happy to go for a ride in the car. Although Rosie has little experience riding in the car, she settles down for a ride nicely.
Rosie has an expressive face and is quite nervous in meeting new people and dogs. She makes the cutest worried expression then! This worried look vanishes within a few minutes as she warms right up to her new friends. She bonded immediately to her foster mom and is her little shadow. Rosie is comfortable being left alone in the house and she has no separation anxiety issues. Occasionally, she howls a little Springer “woo, woo” when she is excited.
Rosie is quite bright and curious. She will make a great companion for any family, with children or without, especially one willing to reassure her in new situations and give her a moderately active lifestyle. She’s ready for a family who will play fetch with her favorite purple ball and give her the love she’ll surely return, as she’s a very affectionate girl. In return, this Rose is sure to bloom.
