Original: “He is very high energy and will run and play until he just shuts down and passes out.”
Ronin came to MAESSR when he started having problems with the older dog in his Maryland home. The family which had adopted him a couple of months earlier were afraid their young child might accidentally get in the middle of one of the dogs’ disagreements. They made the extremely difficult decision to ask MAESSR to find him another forever home.
Ronin is ALL puppy. He does not have a good grasp of appropriate behavior in all dog situations. He is learning, but he is a puppy and the other dogs become annoyed with him occasionally. He is very high energy and will run and play until he just shuts down and passes out. Then, once his batteries are recharged, he is ready to go again.
MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR will require a basic obedience class for this love bug so that he can become the best Springer that he can be.
This youngster is crate trained but its use is not necessary as he is housetrained. He does pull on the leash, but he just hasn’t had a lot of practice yet. He is improving. Ronin will occasionally try to guard a toy, but his foster family is teaching him to trade for a treat. This boy LOVES food so he is learning fast.
Inside, MAESSR’s new guy is a love sponge preferring to sleep in bed with his folks and show them that he is a fantastic snuggler. Ronin will take as much love as his new forever family has to give him. Summer is the time for him to join with his new folks and work off all that energy!
