Reno is enjoying his new home!
Original:
Reno is a beautiful liver and white intact male, who was turned in to the pound due to his previous owner’s lack of interest. Reno is about 18 months old (his owners only remember that he was born last spring). Reno is a typical springer puppy that is full of energy! He has had some training and he sits, gives a paw, and will lie down for a belly rub, although he doesn’t always do these things on cue, it’s more of a repertoire he runs through for treats or attention. He is pretty much housebroken. His owners reported that he used to be an inside dog, but had been an outside dog the last few months. The vet says he’s a beautiful boy in good health.
Reno gets along great with his human five-year-old brother and has settled in with the other four neutered male dogs (ages 2-13.5 years old). He has not shown any food aggression or toy aggression. He is trying to dominate the two youngest dogs, but that will probably change when he’s neutered. He has not been mean in any way. The pound tried him with cats, and he just backed away from them. He has tried to chase his foster home’s house rabbits, although it may just be to play versus prey.
Reno is vocal in the morning when it’s time to get up and go out and he can woo-woo with the best of them! Generally though he is very quiet. He doesn’t like to be in a crate, although once in, he usually settles right down. He has not tried to get on the furniture, and he hasn’t tried to counter-surf. He has only chewed appropriate toys. He does pull on the leash.
Reno would benefit from obedience training. and he will need room to run due to his age and energy level.
Reno is a sweetheart looking for his forever home where he can blossom.
