Remington is a sweet boy, seen laying down in the picture. He and his littermate Baylee are being surrendered into rescue.
Remington is a good boy – he has some naughty traits – he likes to snack out of the wastebasket and was not the best student in obedience class. He could use a refresher. He is also a poop eater (there is no nicer way to put it.)
Remington has lived with a cat and a toddler and has done great with both of them. He and Baylee like to give the cat baths. Remington is particularly good with the baby – he never minds her behavior.
Remington and Baylee are very, very loving, exuberant and fun dogs. Remington, at 65 lbs, considers himself a lap dog and can be very snuggly. He’ll lie on your lap and release a sigh so big it sends his lips flapping – a charmer.
From Remington’s Foster Mom:
Remington is a very sweet boy who cannot get enough attention. He really wants to be part of a family where he can get lots of love and attention.
Remington has pretty good house manners. My biggest complaint is that he is a sloppy drinker. He had a couple of accidents in the house when he first came, but that stopped when I started going outside with him (he was afraid to be outside alone ). Now that he has “settled in”, he goes out by himself and there have been no more accidents. He occasionally will consider “counter surfing” but stops when told no. He does not chew on anything, does not bother the trash can, and does not get on the bed. I have trimmed the hair on his feet, trimmed his nails, and cleaned his ears with no problem. He was not happy about it, but let me do whatever I wanted as long as I was petting him. He also loves to ride in the car. He ignores my cat and plays well with everyone else.
Remy has really come out of his shell since he came here. He plays chase with my dogs and they do the “springer boing”. He has also discovered “TOYS” and playing with stuffed animals.
Remington’s initial writeup indicated that he had mild hip displaysia. I believe that can be helped with glucosamine and chondroitin. Currently, I am giving him two aspirin a day, and he is really doing great. He runs and plays just like everyone else. There has definitely been an improvement since he came here.
The initial writeup also included that he was a “poop eater”. I have seen nothing that indicates that this is a problem. He has made no attempt to do this since he has been here (I have given him several opportunities). Remington is going to make an excellent addition to some lucky family.
