Original: Raisin is a friendly lovable boy. He is good with children and TODDLERS (owner had a 7 month old child). He is good with dogs and cats. Raisin is crate trained and knows how to wlak on a leash. He travels well in a car. Raisin has no separation anxiety and is housebroken—the perfect boy! He is VERY active right now and has been labeled “hyper” by the shelter. However, I don’t recall one Springer puppy that has come into rescue which hasn’t been labeled as hyper. What that means is that he needs exercise and will benefit from the discipline of an obedience class.
I just thought that I would share some good news with everyone. Raisin went to his forever home tonight. His new parents came by and fell in love with him. They loved MaxIII also. We went outside for a little one on one and the rest is history.
His dad absolutely would not leave without him! Raisin was all licks and kisses. He showed his new parents his puppy strut (his legs are longer than he realizes and big paws to go with the legs)!
This family will obviously give him a good home!
UPDATE: This boy has been with us about four days now, and we just LOVE him! He and our 11-month old female Chow Chow, Belle, love each other, too! They play and play and play ’till they wear each other (and us) out, then they both take naps. We crated Raisin the first few nights, but last night, we let him sleep in the bedroom. He hopped up on the bed and slept there all night. Belle’s favorite place is the cool tile bathroom floor; I think Raisin has made his choice, too.
A neighbor thought she recognized Raisin from seeing him at her Vet’s. Further conversation confirmed that it was indeed her vet who neutered Raisin on the same day she was there with her dog. She said the reason she remembered Raisin was that she had never seen a Springer with such big feet! Indeed, this boy has big feet! Maybe he’ll grow into them a little more. Anyway, we love Raisin, and want to thank all of you at MAESSR for helping us find our Springer.
