Radley was much loved by his family in Virginia. Unfortunately there were some circumstances beyond their control which necessitated finding him a new home.
A big Teddy bear that loves to cuddle, Radley is a bit of a couch potato and doesn’t really play. He’s fine with other dogs and is indifferent to small animals. Reportedly he was even affectionate with kittens in his former home. Radley is friendly to all people except young children; they make him nervous. He does not have separation anxiety, but he is afraid of thunderstorms and especially fireworks.
Radley is housetrained and crate trained. He’s an alert barker and does not dig or chew inappropriately. Good boy! Although he pulls on the leash, he can be trusted off-leash and he rides well in the car. Radley has had no formal obedience training but does know “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “paw.” His new family might want to work on his tendency to jump on people. He’s not really a beggar but was known to stare at children while they ate.
Previously Radley enjoyed swimming. He does tend to have ear infections but keeping his ear hair clipped close and keeping him out of the water has helped. He’s slightly overweight and could stand to lose a few pounds. Radley has been professionally groomed and has no problems having his ears and feet handled. It’s important to note that Radley is fine taking Nexguard but he has seizures on Advantix.
If you’re looking for a low-energy cuddle bug, Radley might just be the perfect guy for you!
