Pup Pup has been adopted!
Original:
At only 1.5 years old, poor Pup Pup has been in 4 homes in his short life. His last owner’s reported that he had major separation anxiety and was turned into the shelter because of destructive behavior because this clever boy outsmarted them and managed to get out of his crate and get into mischief. Pup Pup has been in his foster home for a few days now, and so far they have not seen this behavior. This is most likely do to the fact that there canine companions for him and his foster home is ensuring that he is getting the proper amount of exercise. Pup Pup would probably do best in a home where someone is home most all of the time or where he has a canine companion to stave isolation blues, but consistent and training can cure most any dogs of this issue and his foster home is working on this. The more confidence and security he develops, the more this will improve.
Pup Pup will stand up on his back paws to give a big hug…reaching up high to your shoulders. He will sit for dinner and treats. Upon arrival, lucky pup had dinner at Wendy’s en route to his foster family’s home (his human foster brothers were hungry). Pup Pup sat patiently at his foster mom’s feet to savor every morsel of a bacon-burger. Never once did he jump up for more! Pup Pup know his name, sit (for dinner and treats) and will come when he is called. However, his foster family is working on the stay and down commands. Pup Pup Pup can jump a baby gate and due to his separation anxiety he would probably jump a four-foot fence if left alone in a fenced in yard. He is housebroken, and he is quite the early bird ready at 5am for a walk and a play! Inside, Pup Pup is happy to play with bones and balls and is just always ready for a game. Pup Pup is good with children but may be too much for a home with toddlers. We do not know how he is with cats.
He seems to prefer the floor to his basket and really prefers the comfort of foster mom/dad’s bed! He will not jump up on furniture unless invited on someone’s lap. Sometimes he will jump up on foster mom and dad’s lap for a cuddle. As we said he just loves to cuddle and give human style hugs with his paws on your shoulder and will give the occasional kisses.
Pup Pup is looking to find a final and forever home who will help cure his lonely heart and help to know and understand that they will always come back for him. Obedience training is highly recommended for this boy as it will not only help him to learn additional manners but will help him bond with and build confidence in his new family. Are you the one who will heal his heart and show him what it means to be part of a real family?
