Pudding feels MUCH better! His pain and swelling are gone and he has a definite SPRING in his step! He loves to wrestle with the resident springers, and he has the good manners to back off, if the play gets too rough and his foster mother calls a time-out or someone in the pile squawks. He still doesn’t quite know what to do with toys, but he will play tug if one of the other dogs wiggles a toy in his face!
Now that Pudding feels better, he does jump up on the couch and his foster mother’s favorite chair, but he gets down immediately when told to do so. He has not tried to counter-surf and shows no interest in the trash.
Pudding is a dominant male. He gets along great with both submissive resident males and every female dog he has been introduced to. He has been “caught” licking the cat when she doesn’t feel well, and he will even come get his foster mother when the cat cries. He spends a lot of time with teenagers and just eats up all the affection they lavish on him. He has played with children as young as 3 and is quite gentle.
Pudding is a wonderful dog who is as sweet as his name! He will make a wonderful, loving companion.
Original:
Pudding is a 45-pound love muffin! He follows his foster mother everywhere and curls up in a corner of the room to keep her company. He will crawl into her lap for attention, and he presses his little body as close to her as he can get! He loves to lick ears and will snuggle with his foster mother for as long as she’ll sit still. He arrived at his foster home from a shelter. He had been relinquished by his owners because his energy level was too much for their older dog to deal with.
This little guy has learned some very nice house manners. He does not get on the furniture or bed, nor does he counter-surf or chew. He’s completely housetrained. He doesn’t seem to know what toys are for, but his foster brothers are doing their best to teach him. He walks nicely on the leash, although he will pull a bit if a squirrel catches his attention. Pudding goes into his crate with no problems and sleeps through the night without a peep. He mastered the doggie door within 24 hours and knows “sit,” “stay,” “off,” and “settle.”
Pudding currently has a severe infection which followed his neutering surgery. He cries and presses close when his foster mother puts ointment on him to treat his painful swelling. Although he is in a lot of pain, he is a loving, sweet-natured boy with a normal dose of springer energy. Pudding needs a home where he will get lots of love and plenty of exercise. He has a lot of love to offer and is a sweetie who will shine for his adopting family!
